Dear Subscriber,
Our newsletter this week features the video with Deidre Combs in this month’s OWL Wisdom Circle 1. Deidre’s narrative — of her work with the U.S. State Department in bringing together young leaders from countries in the Middle East, her story of how she came to this work, and her vision of global conflict resolution as a spiritual practice — served as an inspiration to all of us, and will to you too! I also invite you to weigh in, in the comments section under the video, on your interest in seeing us initiate a new OWL circle on global conflict resolution. And as always you’ll find the list of our upcoming wisdom circles, with links for finding out more and signing up. See the details below. If you’ve got any news, updates or events (see guidelines in the OWL Wisdom Circle Calendar) that you’d like to share with the OWL community, please let me know. In gratitude. |

Jan. 25: Karma Kitchen
Run by volunteers, our meals are cooked and served with love, and offered to the guest as a genuine gift. To complete the full circle of giving and sustain this experiment, guests make contributions in the spirit of pay-it-forward to those who will come after them. In keeping this chain going, the generosity of both guests and volunteers helps to create a future that moves from transaction to trust, from self-oriented isolation to shared commitment, and from fear of scarcity to celebration of abundance. Karma kitchen in Berkeley is held the last Sunday of every month . |

February 10: OWL Wisdom Circle 1The founding wisdom circle of the OWL community, and an incubator for wisdom circles around the world. Our purpose: to support a course change for humanity by supporting each other. Each month we feature a First Speaker — a global citizen / social activist who is making a positive difference in the world — who starts the conversation and offers a question to the rest of us. By engaging in these conversations, we get to open our minds and hearts, deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world around us, strengthen our connections with each other, and our ability, individually and collectively, to support a course change for humanity. . |
