Dear Subscriber,
I’m back from my summer road-trip through Northern California redwood forests, Mount Shasta, and the Oregon coast.

I’ve learned some personal lessons this year — including a couple of important ones from the redwoods.

I’ve been posting them with pictures and brief reflections at Aryae’s Travel Blog. I’m considering making that my personal blog going forward, and invite you to subscribe if you like.

International Development Design Summit in Chennai, India

OWL Global Citizen Kay Sandberg, one of the organizers of this summit, is now in India together with associates from around the world. The official title is IDDS Aarogyam. Their mission:
This intense, hands-on summit will bring together community representatives, health workers, midwives, students, business leaders, engineers, and designers from across the globe who will work together to develop locally-accessible solutions with the potential to strengthen the healthcare system and empower participants in the process.
Kay’s organization, Global Force for Healing, has brought together healthy birthing activists from several countries to attend. She is also running the Summit Blog, which is issuing regular progress reports.
I encourage you to check it out and follow the innovative work of this international gathering. This is a great example of the kinds of change that the OWL community is supporting!

OWL Website Update
I’ve hired an Internet security company, SiteLock, to clean up the OWL website from a recent malware attack, and to set up a scanner and firewall to protect it going forward. I asked my consultant why he thought our site got attacked. He gave three reasons: (1) with more malware programs being launched around the world every day, that’s just how the internet is these days; (2) WordPress sites like ours now account for about 60% of all web sites, so they’re especially targeted; (3) the bad guys, and these programs, seem to be drawn to sites with spiritual and social change content. Go figure! 🙁 (Apparently our efforts toward a world of kindness and generosity are still very much needed…)
I’ve learned the hard way how naive it is to run an unprotected web site in 2015. Kind of like building a house without a lock on the front door. If you’ve got an unprotected web site of your own, I highly recommend protecting it sooner rather than later. If you’d like to discuss details, let me know; I’d be happy to share what I’ve learned.
Anyway, the good news here is that the OWL site should be clean and ready to visit next week. I’ll keep you updated.
OWL Wisdom Circle Schedule
The ServiceSpace Awakin Circles and Awakin Calls are happening in July on their normal schedule. There will be no OWL Global Wisdom Circle in July; the next one is scheduled for Sunday, August 9 at 9 AM Pacific. I’ll be getting back to you with more, including our updated calendar, when the OWL web site is ready.
In the meantime, if you’ve got anything at all you’d like to discuss, or would like to just catch up by phone or Zoom/Skype, let me know! I’m definitely up for some personal catching up.
In gratitude.
