Grace Mose Okong’o and Grace Wamue-Ngare will be sharing their work in Kenya, empowering women for a New Kenya, with

Hope Foundation for African Women
Kenyatta University, Kenya – Institute of Women, Gender and Development

(If the Internet does not allow connection with Nairobi, I am inviting Gideon and Celine Ticha, from Cameroon living in Atlanta, to share their work in Cameroon.)

Hope Foundation for African Women (HFAW) has produced high impacts in two county communities in Kenya, with “critical conscious raising,” igniting women and men to find and implement solutions to problems in their communities, using the EPES Foundation model for training for health and human rights and KivaZip for economic development. The Women Leaders for the World breakthrough project is to have HFAW program, training for Health and Human Rights and KivaZip, in all 47 counties of Kenya, in 5 years.

The Hope Foundation for African Women (HFAW) model incorporates Educatión Popular en Salud (EPES) Foundation training, from Chile, and KIVAZip, providing interest-free micro loans, to model for communities worldwide, tools to invigorate democratic engagement and leadership, and empower women and the men who work along with them for health-focused sustainable development.

Additionally, Grace and Grace are committed to a New Kenya, taking on ending the practice of rural women selling their votes, to turn to electing government officials that are honest and represent their constituencies. They are both preparing to bring leadership training to their university to provide a foundation of integrity, authenticity, and a commitment to something greater than yourself, and being at cause in the matter.
