On February 29, 2016 OWL Global Citizen Zilong Wang embarked on a “pilgrimage, bicycling solo, from San Francisco Bay Area, heading eastward around the world, back to China … in service of the ecological and spiritual awakening of our time.” He expects the journey to take two – three years, “open to emergence.” Zilong is documenting his journey online, and offering ways for us to stay in touch with him as he travels.
My name is Zilong. I was born in Inner Mongolia (a northern province in China), went to schools in Shanghai, and grew up across China. After spending a year in Germany as an exchange student, I came to the US for college. I graduated from Hampshire College in summer 2013, and then bicycled solo across the US to start working in San Francisco.
The “Journey to the West” over the past seven years is reflected upon here. The past year of answering the inner calling to journey east is shared here.
